WHERE YOU WANT
For the past 35 years Atria Development has been redeveloping properties for residential, commercial and industrial use across the GTA, particularly in Toronto’s downtown eastern core. Our ventures include the challenging but rewarding task of converting abandoned buildings into affordable, functional studio lofts, where artists, photographers and those in the film industry can live and work. We have a long and proud history of spotting potential and breathing new life into neglected buildings and overlooked neighbourhoods.
Atria Development has been a pioneer in the revitalization of the Queen-Carlaw community for more than three decades. In recognizing the potential of this neighbourhood’s rich architectural history and character, we were among the first to pursue and succeed at securing residential zoning rights to this area’s industrial buildings. By creating unique living spaces, Atria Development has set the foundation for reintroducing Toronto singles and families to this community.
Our development projects aim to capture and merge the character and elegance of the past, with the sleek urban design of the present. Our hugely successful i-Zone liveworklofts project in 1999 was followed quickly by the Parkwood Residences in Oshawa, the more recent Garment Factory Lofts in Leslieville and Kimberley Court in The Beach.
Atria is a family-owned company led by Hans Jain and Vipin Jain, whose father, Gyan (John), an engineer originally from India, launched the property development and management firm more than three decades ago. Today, Atria Development continues to revitalize, renew and bring new life to industrial urban areas. Our tenants and homeowners are the motivating forces behind the successful, caring company we are today.
Atria Development has a strong management team, led by brothers Hans Jain and Vipin Jain. The Jain family has long been a part of the development fabric in the Greater Toronto Area. Gyan Chand Jain, the family patriarch, arrived in Canada in 1964 and started developing in Toronto in 1969. His sons founded Atria to continue a tradition of revitalizing communities, by building new projects and repurposing existing structures.
Atria’s management team benefits from in-house experience that spans all stages of the development process: land acquisition and assembly, planning and approvals, sales and marketing, financing, construction, occupancy and long-term leasing. Over nearly 20 years, Atria has completed a variety of projects from retrofit industrial buildings to newly built residential condominiums.
The Jain brothers are equal shareholders in the company, and the sole directors of the corporation.

A PURPOSEFUL SELECTION OF PROJECTS.
We continue to push the envelope by designing our projects to complement and transition the fabric of the existing community.
We do this by carefully choosing projects, getting to know the community and working closely with our municipal partners. We focus on bringing value to those who reside in our building and to our neighbours. Our in-house team is assembled to navigate the entire development life cycle: from land acquisitions and assembly, planning and approvals, to sales, marketing and customer service.
We are Atria Development and we’d love to get to know you.
